چکیده

A total of 2,011 pigs (PIC 1050 × DNA 600; initially 62.4 ± 4.6 lb) were used in a 113-d finishing trial to evaluate the effects two different fat sources fed at levels on growth performance, carcass characteristics, iodine value, and economics raised commercial environment. Effects of dietary iodine value product on growth performance and carcass fat quality of finishing pigs.

A total of 120 barrows (initial BW = 47.9 ± 3.6 kg; PIC 1050) were used in an 83-d study to determine the effects of dietary iodine value (IV) product (IVP) on growth performance and fat quality. Pigs were blocked by BW and randomly allotted to 1 of 6 treatments with 2 pigs per pen and 10 pens per treatment. Dietary treatments were fed in 3 phases and formulated to 3 IVP concentrations (low, me...

Effects of dietary fat on growth performance and carcass characteristics of growing-finishing pigs reared in a commercial environment.

We conducted two experiments to evaluate the effects of added choice white grease on performance and carcass merit of barrows and gilts reared under commercial conditions. Pigs were housed either 20 (Exp. 1) or 25 (Exp. 2) per pen and were provided 0.67 m2 of pen space per pig. Diets were based on corn and soybean meal and fed in a meal form. The proportion of soybean meal was increased in diet...

Effects of diet form and type on growth performance, carcass yield, and iodine value of finishing pigs.

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effects of pelleting, diet type (fat and fiber level), and withdrawal of dietary fiber and fat before marketing on growth performance, carcass yield, and carcass fat iodine value (IV) of finishing pigs. Each experiment used 288 pigs (initially 49.6 and 48.5 kg BW, respectively) with 6 dietary treatments arranged as 2 × 3 factorials. In Exp. 1, mai...

Effects of DDGS in growth performance and carcass characteristics of growing-finishing pigs

The objective of this study was to evaluate effects of DDGS sources differing in quality to growingfinishing pigs on growth performance and carcass characteristics. Pigs (n = 448; BW = 62.7 ± 0.11 kg) were fed one of 4 experimental diets (14 pens/treatment; 8 pigs/pen) using a 2-phase feeding program to a final BW of 115.8 ± 0.23 kg. Diets consisted of a corn-soybean meal diet (CON), and diets ...
